Hey everyone! So recently me and my boyfriend have been super busy with big things going on in our lives and our sex lives have taken a bit of a dip. We’re probably having sex once every two weeks. When I went to my mom about it she said “I don’t care how good of a man he is, if you deny your man sex for too long they’ll find it somewhere else.” 
I honestly know my boyfriend loves me. And I really hope this passes, but this statement made me worry! What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?

If you are in a stable healthy relationship and are committed to each other he can go a couple of weeks without sex it’s not the long
He can also pleasure himself in the mean time 
Just have good open communication with one another

Your mom is not correct… Men are humans not animals and they can control their penises. Don’t let yourself become someone who is willing to accept that “all men cheat”, because that is the exact attitude that will lead you to men who actually do cheat. There are good men out there that see your value beyond your vagina.

My husband and I have periods of time where it's just not possible. During recovery from giving birth, even after having kids. We're exhausted and sometimes it just doesn't happen. There are months we've only had sex like 3 times. That's about our average. 3 times a month. I'm 35 1/2 weeks pregnant and we haven't had sex since I was like 20 weeks because orgasms make my stomach rock hard and it just hurts like crazy. So been a few months of no sex for us. Plus I still have to give birth and recover from that. He's never once complained about it. Because he saw what it did to me last time and really doesn't want sex badly enough that he's willing to hurt me in the process. Does he self explore? Most likely and I won't fault him for that. I can't (because orgasms are what hurt me the most.) But I wouldn't tell him he couldn't because I can't. Is he cheating? No. He's with me 24/7. Not really but he works on the property we live on so even when he's not at the house with me, he's here on the property. He's not sneaking off. We have 1 vehicle and it's always in front of the house. We live in the middle of nowhere on 60 acres and surrounded by older folks. I'm talking like 70 yrs olds and I doubt he's dicking down Miss Ida in the back field. Probably hear the ambulance coming up the road 😅 so no. They don't all cheat.

No they don’t all cheat. They can pleasure themselves. It’s not a need, it’s a desire. Contrary to popular belief, it won’t shrivel up and fall off and no, they won’t die from lack of sex. And is it really all you that’s causing lack of sex? Probably not, sounds like you’re both tired and stressed and that’s not a good environment for intimacy. Try setting aside time for each other if you want to rekindle things. But it’s absolutely not an obligation, and he will understand if you are communicating through the troubled times. I know men who have gone months or even years without sex and never thought of cheating. But also be aware there are other intimate needs aside from sex that must be maintained when sex isn’t available. Touch, cuddles, kisses, words of affirmation, attention, and affectionate interactions all around. Speaking from a place of love means holding respect and value for each other. So look at where they are on your list of priorities. Are they as high on your list as where you expect yourself to be when it comes to their list of priorities? It should be at least equal. Ideally you should both come first, but of course there are special circumstances. And then there are things that can’t be helped like certain medical conditions. 
A partner in a healthy relationship should be more concerned about making the environment conducive to intimacy than seeking intimacy outside the relationship. If they seek intimacy outside the relationship they have given up on monogamy with you and violated a boundary they know they may not recover from, in which case there is no respect or value from them towards you, so the relationship was already doomed before they cheat. If a person both respects and values their partner they will never cheat. Without respect and value, whatever they may think is love is a myth.

Not all men cheat. I’ve been with my 3 partners for 14 years. They don’t cheat. We have sex 4-5 times a week and we all masturbate. They wouldn’t cheat if our sexual intimacy dwindled. They wouldn’t leave me if we couldn’t have sex and I wouldn’t leave them. If a man or woman decides to cheat, it is not their partner’s fault. It is on the cheater. No one is driven to cheat. They make that conscious decision and act on it.

It happens! This is normal. My boyfriend and I have been together 7 years and we go through this where I come to him like “damn we haven’t had sex in 3 weeks” and then we make sure to plan a date night, I get all cute and dressed up and sometimes take some naughty photos to send him during dinner 😆 
If you’ve noticed the decline make sure to take some time to have these intimate moments with him. 
It’s not like you’re denying the intimacy, you’re both just caught up in life.
