Invite list advice

Hey friends!

My baby is about to turn ONE! I’m looking for advice on how to go about the invite list due to having separated parents.

I included everyone for his baptism this past spring… the day quickly went from being all about him to all about my divorced parents. 😠 it made me so mad as that was HIS day. Not theirs! My dad held together alright… used avoidance tactics but my mom acted like she did nothing wrong and then later that day falls me having a panic attack… cool. I’m still trying to spend quality time with my child here… but that’s right. Life’s all about YOU!

So this brings me to my baby’s first birthday… I’d love for everyone to be in the same room together. But I certainly don’t want it to be a reenactment of the baptism drama. What would you do?

Do we just do something separate with my mom? Or… Ask both parents ahead of time if they can be civil to be in the same room together to be included on the same event?

It shouldn’t have to be this hard!!!
