Metformin and Glucose Test

Hey! I just want to see if anyone has advice or have had a similar scenario.

I am on Metformin, I’m not ‘diabetic’ but was put on Metformin for insulin resistance/PCOS which seemed to help me conceive. I was instructed to keep taking the Metformin. And possibly stop around the 20 week mark.

But, for the glucose test, My OBGYN said I would have to stop the Metformin for the glucose test. But my maternal fetal specialist said I’m able to take the glucose test while still on the medication, however she said if I failed it while on the medication I’d have to take insulin alongside….which I am not looking forward to.

She also said I can stop the meds and just do insulin if I failed that test, which again, not looking forward to.

Just wondering if anyone took Metformin throughout pregnancy and how that worked out for you.

She also told me different doctors will say different things but at this point I’m like well can I have an opinion as well 😭 I’m scared to stop the Metformin if I’m honest.
