Does strep in children absolutely REQUIRE antibiotics?

What if they’re showing signs of possibly getting better (and have not had any antibiotics) should I still bring them in to be treated? Or..?

Your doctor should make that determination. You can die from untreated strep.

Get your child in to the doctor so you can get antibiotics. My four year old had it at the beginning of this year. It seemed like sinus drainage/sore throat for a week that would get “better” and he’d wake up worse the next day. It wasn’t until my husband and I also had symptoms that we thought of strep. I felt awful, my son was miserable. Don’t know why you’d want to put your
child through that when medicine exists to help them.

Yes take child in for strep infection. It’s not to mess with. Also if you don’t treat child will become worse. And PANDAS can happen. You’ll want to look that up. That is not to mess with a it’s hell! My 3.5yr old has pandas from a previously underlying strep infection ( no symptoms showed) and it’s been a HELL of the last 3 months.
