How long should you date someone before you move in together?

So tmi but my boyfriend recently moved into a new apartment with his friend to help his friend out of a tough spot. Recently my boyfriend told me it seemed like his roommate was being really shady and resorting to old habits (I don't want to say what exactly on here but just not good stuff should do) his roommate has a past and my boyfriend said he is nervous that he's going to get in trouble for trying to do the right thing by helping a friend out.

​Long story short my lease is up in 2 months and my boyfriend said he really liked the building he was in but they only had two bedrooms so I said maybe we should get an apartment together in that building. (It would be a two bedroom and everything) we will have been dating for a little over a year by than. Is that to fast? I've never lived with a boyfriend before. I'm not sure if it matters but I'm 23 and he's 27.

My boyfriend and I basically lived with eachother since we met. He was always over then we went looking for apartments hunting and moved in after 3 months... We've been together over 4 years if it feels right go for it...

I mean I know girls who have been in relationship for a week and moved in with their bfs. 
Ive been with my SO for 3years and we haven't even talked about that type of thing. We dont really need too, he lives next door

If it feels right then do it... My husband and I were living together after 5 months of dating and we were married less then 2 months after that and it's been almost 13 years...

When you feel ready. My husband and I moved in together 3 months after we met. It felt right and it worked out just fine for us.

In the situation you're in Id say go for it. And if it doesnt work out - hell, at least youll know that youre not able to live with him and maybe hes not the one. See how it goes, but have a backup plan or a friend with a couch in case things get rough and you dont want to live with him anymore

I actually met my now husband in Jan of 2008, became bf/gf on Feb '08, long story short I moved in with him 3 mos later! Were very happy and I wouldn't change a thing. I know its too soon and way to fast lol. 6 yrs together 4 yrs married!

Anyway I shouldn't have voted but I did anyways and I voted to wait a year!

When you feel its ready. My boyfriend been spending the night with me everyday.. practically living with me... but havnt moved all his things in... but his plan is to move in the end of this year which would be 7 months in...

Me and my ex moved in at just 7 months. Key word "ex." Moving out was as close to experiencing a divorce as I ever want to get. There were many times I should have ended it sooner but felt like it would be too much work and too hard to not only break up but move out. He was toxic.

​Me and my current boyfriend moved in at 4 months and have been together for 2.5 yrs and he makes me a better human being.

​So, as long as you can accept the potential for failure and know what you're signing up for, I say go with your gut! Good luck!
