How are the grandparents to the children

Have you ever dealt with grandparents wanting to become the parent?

Overstepping boundaries, saying things like you can call me mom to the grandchildren and overstepping for example if the Parents have rules and the grandparents say it's okay you can do this and that. But the parent has rules has discipline and if there's any discipline of the grandchildren the Grandparents freak out: no it can't be my grandchild is getting disciplined.

If the parents have a discussion on anything the grandparents have something to say to the children about it contrary to the parents or saying the same thing the parent said over talking the parents.

For example if the child is doing something breaking the rules or dangerous and the parents have a talk with the child the grandparents feel they have a say or listening to what is being said or disagree or they want to take over the parenting moment and they want to parent.
