What does it feel to be romantically in love with someone?

I don’t think I ever was in love with someone before but started dating someone new recently and think I may be falling in love with him but have no idea if what I’m feeling is truly love. 
Can anyone describe how it feels to be in love with someone? If that’s even possible?

I thought I knew what love was, but I had no idea until my husband came along. What I had felt was infatuation. For my love feels like I'm with my literal other half when I'm with him. I feel safe and feel at home when I'm with my husband. The immense security I feel with my husband and overwhelming love provides a peace that I've never felt anywhere else. He's the only place I feel whole and feel at peace.

It’s so hard to describe unless you’ve experienced it. The ones who have know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s a sense of peace. Never once got butterflies. When you know you know and you won’t have to question it. You won’t feel like you have to compromise who you are just to have or keep someone. You’ll be 100% comfortable with this person, kinda like hanging out with your best friend all the time and best friends don’t judge. You won’t have to worry about doing or saying the wrong thing in fear that they’ll leave, in which case they’re not worth being kept. The saying is so cliche but when you know you really do know.
