Why is it acceptable

That when I announce I had a successful birth women seem to think the acceptable response is congrats, now send that baby home whole like God intended and don't mutilate his genetalia. Nobody asked your opinion. Nobody tells you to make sure you vaccinate your kid before leaving the hospital or make sure you don't mutilate your daughters ears by getting them pierced in a few weeks. If you're going to congratulate someone, congratulate them. Keep your comments about things that are absolutely none of your business, to yourself.
