Am i in the wrong for asking for reassurance?

When my husband starts a new job, I always get really bad anxiety. We’ve had some infidelity in our past on his part and today I called him and told him straight forward that I just needed reassurance. He sounded annoyed and when I asked him why he told me “This conversation is weird” “I’m in the truck coming home and you’re already starting.” I told him my intentions weren’t to make him angry but I just needed a bit comfort and he told me bye and hung up on me. 🙂 I feel really bad for opening up now but maybe it was childish of me on my part. Childish or not it does hurt, I just wanted to hear that he loves me or something but I guess getting hung up on is better
