Peanut Butter?!

M • Loving life! ❤️✌️
Ok this isn't a totally controversial topic but it's stirred up some argument here in my real life. Our pediatrician, who I absolutely adore and trust, told us to go on and introduce peanut butter at 4mos when we started introducing rice cereal. He told us that contrary to previous thought, new research indicates that early exposure decreases the chance of allergy. I don't give my son much, just a fingertips measure of the all natural/organic stuff mixed in with a few tablespoons of cereal every few days, but my SIL and grandmother freaked out when they heard! So I'm curious mamas, when have or will you introduce good old PB? Oh and by the way our pediatrician is no young inexperienced man, he's coming from a background of running the nursery at Childten's Hospital D.C.!
**for those commenting about waiting til 6mo for solids let me add that I'm following pediatrician advice, my son was a stable supported sitter when we started, and we stopped breastfeeding at 4mo because I had to go back on meds for MS...**
