Am I a bad wife for telling my mom about my husband's past
My husband had a very bad childhood. I was fortunate enough to have a good childhood and loving parents. My husband didn't really have that and went through some things that no child should. So far he's only ever told 3 people about his trauma. Me, his best friend, and his therapist. I'm not really sure why I told my mom. I guess my husband's past is just really heavy and I obviously can't make his past trauma about me so I spoke to my mom about it. I get I probably shouldn't have but I didn't expect my mom to tell EVERYONE in my family. Especially my dad because my dad is the type of person who doesn't believe in mental health. My husband found this out because my dad brought it up at our early thanksgiving. Most of my family works on Thanksgiving so we got together Saturday. My dad made some rude remarks about how today's men are weak and how these new generations don't know how to deal with trauma and everyone has trauma. He kept making remarks towards my husband to the point my husband pulled me to the side and asked does my dad know. I said he shouldn't and confessed to telling my mom and he got upset. Everyone was weird towards my husband that day. He even heard my cousins talking about my husband's sexuality and if he's gay or something. It was a horrible thanksgiving. In the car my husband yelled at me for doing that. Told me he's never opening up to me or anyone again. And left the house when we got home. I could see on life 360 he was just at a park. I feel horrible and like a bad wife now. I never meant to hurt him.
Edit: I understand I really messed up. If I could get advice on how to fix this. I plan to talk to my family and will no longer go around them if they can't get it together. I never meant to hurt my husband and want to fix it.
