Court question?
Hi. Question. How do I get a parenting plan set in case we happen to break up and go our ways? We are not looking to go our own ways but incase that does happen I want to have a plan set up.
I tried once before but they told me since we still live together I can’t do that. Seems a bit odd because we are not married. Plus when you go to court for custody when you’re mad you make irrational decisions and that’s not something I really want to go thru but the way the system is, it has to happen that way unfortunately. Just trying to make sure I can have everything in order. I’m in Michigan by the way.
Okay so it might be “strange” that’s fine and dandy. However, when you go to the courthouse for a custody battle during the time it takes the other parent cannot see, or talk to the child. So now let’s say I have a job. I go to work, come home, the locks are changed and I cannot get back into my child. Now what am I going to do? I would have to file an ex parte custody. Now why go thru all that when it can all be avoided? I get it, they don’t want a rational mutual decision when nobody is mad. They want you to drag drag drag so they can cash in on those checks. The way it’s set up is to fail. Period. Now what I did was made an example. I’m not saying anyone is actually going to change the locks it’s hypothetically speaking. Don’t read too far into this it seems like “I don’t need one” well I do actually.
