Miscarriage???

Question

I have a 4 year old son had no issues conceiving him never miscarried. After I had him in May of 2011 I got mirena iud as my form of birth control. I just recently got it removed in August of 2015 so that me and my husband could TTC. I am not due for my period until this Friday and I woke up this morning with blood on my sheets. I ran to the bathroom thinking I started my period early and as I was peeing I looked down and seen a small stringy blood clot..... I have never had a miscarriage I have only heard about them and have heard that you will pass a blood clot.. I pray this isn't what I think it is.... 😢 and if it is could mirena be the cause???? My doctor didn't seem to think the mirena would have any negative effect so I don't understand...

My miscarriage was really painful, and the most amount of blood I have ever seen. And the "blood clot" didn't pass for a few hours after the bleeding started.

Don't stress, there would be more than one blood clot. In my case I had light bleeding that eventually got heavier over two days, third day I was sitting on the toilet for a few hours there was that much blood and clots when it actually came time to pass the tissue, and there was pain and contractions. My clots were huge, I was around 6-8 weeks along.

My miscarriage started with a tiny bit of blood (light pink coloured) and a few days later I was in so much pain and passed a few big clots of blood (tissue) after the big clot was passed, the pain stopped. The miscarriage for me went for a few days. And after the clots I just had “normal” bleeding for almost 2 weeks

Also if it was a miscarriage a pregnancy test would still be positive for a few days so you could do a test if you really want to

It's likely just a clot. Lots and lots of women get them. Sometimes only occasionally. Sometimes every month.
If it was an embryo then it's so early it counts as a failed implantation which almost no one ever notices and have no effect on your chance of getting pregnant next cycle.
But again, likely just a normal clot.
Either way no need to worry.

Generally, you would feel contractions every so often in your abdomen, indicating your body is ridding itself of any form of "baby" there could have been.

If it's just stringy clots or whatever, just a crappy period starting earlier than proposed.

I have had a miscarriage and never had clots like that,  I have had them during AF. Is your period the same length every month? If not it could just be coming early
