Short term disability, Medicaid

Can you get approved for Medicaid if your on short term disability leave from your job? I’m just curious and really trying to find some information out for my mother. She still gets about 70% of her pay along with her employer health insurance still being active. I would call and ask them but they ain’t nice enough to answer a question for another person. So I’m wondering if anyone here might know?
