"Making love"

How do I correctly ask my man to "make love" to me... I've tried all the tricks all my girlfriends have given me, like being tender and asking him to be tender, but sometimes when I have sex with him all I feel it is is fucking. Not really emotionally attached. I want that, hot heavy sex that leaves someone knowing that they love them. He pleases me, and trust me the sex is amazing, but there's no emotion. Maybe he's being distant? I don't know. Anyone have any ideas?
