Sunday my husband and I went to his cousin's birthday party and just a few minutes after us walking in his mom is complaining to the family about how I didn't like any of her name choices for my baby. Even going as far as mocking me. My husband didn't hear because he was talking with his cousin. I normally don't keep my mouth shut when someone speaks like that to me or about me, but I didn't want to ruin his cousin's birthday. I didn't say anything to my husband about it but I feel like I should in case she does it again because next time I won't keep my mouth shut. The only thing that made me feel better was another cousin told her about how everyone hated the name she wanted for her daughter so much that she changed it and still is upset about it 15 years later. She told my MIL that it really hurt her feelings when family did that to her and it shouldn't be anyone else's business what name someone chooses. My MIL didn't say another word about it after that. But I just hate she did that to me. She is a very pushy and overbearing woman and thinks she gets to talk to people however she wants.
