My boyfriend is really weird about my coworker. Well really any of my friends but this is most recent. He thinks we’re too close and doesn’t like it, even tho the coworker is openly gay. When we were just coworkers he thought my coworker was cool, but since we are actual friends now, my boyfriend all of a sudden talks bad of him every chance he gets and is pretty mean about it. Coworker’s birthday was coming up and he was talking about how his birthday is triggering for him because he spent a lot of his past birthdays in active addiction. He seemed really sad so I gave him a hug. My boyfriend told me i would be dumb to do anything for coworker for his birthday. My manager let me record some of the camera footage of us playing around on break and I used it to make a tik tok with a joke I knew he would like. My boyfriend saw me making it but didn’t say anything. The next day, my coworker came up in conversation. My boyfriend told me the tik tok was the cringiest thing he’s ever seen, how he wouldn’t hug another girl, and wanted me to delete it. I felt embarrassed and did. Or the other day, I didn’t answer for 4 minutes and he said “what’re you too busy talking to (coworker)?”. I talked to my sister and she said it sounded like he’s overly jealous and controlling. When I ask why my friendship bothers him so much, he just says it’s “not professional”, but I feel like that’s just a cover.
