Toddler HELP needed

My 17 month old has JUST started these screaming attacks where on any given day he will scream the entire day and not be happy wherever I put him. He communicates as if he wants something different (like what he usually does when he wants to play on the porch, go to his playroom, or the high chair, etc). But as soon as I take him somewhere else or start another activity he starts screaming and then immediately wants to do something else. It’s just screaming and tears the entire day. My nerves are frazzled and I had to leave him screaming and go in the bedroom to breathe so I didn’t yell at him. I’ve been constantly cuddling him, reassuring him, signing to him, doing things that usually make him smile. Idk what to do. There has been a tiny degree of this behavior recently but it’s just come out full force. What the hell am I supposed to do. Just leave him? I swear to God I’ve tried everything else. I really need some advice before I have a meltdown myself and we are both here screaming 🫠. And honestly this post isn’t about this but I’m not ok. I have high functioning autism but I do not tolerate loud noises well at all. and this screaming won’t stop. I’m at a loss of how to help him.
