Baby’s father doesn’t know how to handle newborn
I have a 6 week old who gets fussy around 12am. My baby’s father stays over 2 nights a week, 3 days. When our son is crying at night between 12am and 2am he comes to help calm baby down. Tonight I noticed him lifting our son up above eye level (he’s 6ft tall) as if he’s baby Simba from The Lion King, I told him to stop doing that and he got an attitude. I explained the baby is a newborn and not like a 6 month old who can handle what he’s doing. He told me not to tell him what to do. Was it appropriate for him to lift our baby up above his eye level to calm him down? He’s a first time father and picks and chooses when I offer suggestions about his parenting.
