Husband needs therapy but won't go
Guys, I need help. My husband needs to go to therapy, and possibly needs medication to treat his anxiety and depression. He will not go. And I don't know what to do. It has gotten to the point of him contemplating suicide. I don't think he is near the point of actually doing anything, he was smart enough that at his lowest point where he was thinking about it some he reached out to an online around the clock therapist or something to help him work through it. Thankfully he opened up and told me about it the next day. Since then we have had a few open and candid conversations about it, and he said he just at times doesn't want to be here because of how overwhelming everything is, not that he necessarily really wants to hurt himself. How in the world do I force him to go get help? I don't know why he won't go, although I suspect it's a mental thing where he thinks if he has to get help then he is weak. When I bring it up he usually just nods his head or stays silent. Sometimes he argues with me and says "what would a therapist even do?" But I am legitimately concerned for him and our family. Even if it never gets any worse we absolutely cannot keep functioning like this. How do I get him to go get the help he needs??
