Confused !!

I like a guy. We have been close friends , FWB, in love for 14 years. We are just true to each other but not in a relationship. I moved back in with family for about two years and soon to get my own place in 2 months. His car had been down so for the past year I’ve been going to see him every week or so which I don’t mind. He has his own place. I’m so ready for a relationship but I haven’t mentioned anything about it. He keeps hinting towards one but he keeps throwing in things about “he’s trying to wait till I get my own place to see what’s up with a relationship “…. I never question that but it kinda bothers me…… what does me having my own place has to do with a relationship when you couldn’t even come see me right now anyway when I’ve been coming to see you… I’m so lost :/ anyone ever heard of anything like this? Advice ? Or input? lol thanks everyone
