Precipitous Labor

Michelle

I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby and still a little traumatized from my birth with my second son. He was born less than 4 hours after I woke up feeling a little uncomfortable, with intense contractions starting around 5:30 am and then was born at 7:45 am. My first son was an induction that took 12 hours (and an epidural from the beginning) so I was completely unprepared for going unmedicated along with being scared of giving birth in the car during a 45 min drive. We barely made it!

Knowing this is likely to happen again, has anyone had this experience and had a less hectic outcome for their next baby? I had an induction scheduled last time, and he came at 38 weeks so planning an induction likely won’t help. I’m still a 45 min drive from my hospital. Any tips or reassurance would be super helpful! Thank you!
