Is this a bad sign?

I went out to my car today and noticed someone had placed a half-drunken Starbucks coffee cup (just a paper one) right next to my back tire. Like directly next to it practically touching my tire. I live in an apartment complex so it’s possible some lazy person just sat it there but now I’m wondering if I made someone mad or something? Is this a bad sign?

If you made someone mad, they would’ve actually did something to your car like slash your tires, key your car, break a window, etc. Someone leaving a coffee cup literally has no effect on anything.

I wouldn’t think it would be because you made someone mad, but they say people target cars with random markings like this. Just pay attention.

I’d guess littering maybe. I literally had someone set a full drink under my car once when they didn’t realize I was sitting in the car and I rolled down the window and told them to pick it up. There was a trash can a few feet away too! People are disgusting. But I would also be weary of traffickers as well maybe marking your car.
