Know your blood types before conception

I am currently miscarrying my first child because I was not fully aware of my blood type and my husbands blood type. It's not common knowledge for people who aren't in the pregnancy world to need to know this information.

My blood type is A- and my husband's is B+ which means my body will fight off the pregnancy regardless. My body assumed it was a virus or something and protected me against it. Also IF the baby's blood type was also conflicting with a + then that would make it even harder to have a successful pregnancy.

I had to go to the ER due to bright red bleeding (no cramps) but since I was pregnant any form of bleeding can mean something is wrong. It did start with light pink spotting and progressed to stringy small clots and bright red blood, similar to period. Without knowing I was pregnant someone could have thought their period was just a little weird and more painful.....

If you know this information you can get a RhoGAM shot to prevent your body from fighting off the pregnancy. I wish I knew that and I want everyone to be aware of this. For the ladies out there who don't know I hope this helps save your pregnancies. Make sure to get in with a OB before conception also, and check with them before assuming you need the shot.

I trust God's timing and I trust and have faith that my next pregnancy will be successful. I have hope I'll have 2 babies (twins run in my family) 1 being a rainbow baby.
