“Snacking” newborn

My LO is a little over three weeks old. I am EBF but I’m worried I’m doing this whole breastfeeding thing wrong.

I, admittedly, primarily feed on demand. If he cries or is fussy, I offer a boob. Our nursing sessions have lasted upwards of two hours. I am exhausted to say the least. I think a large part of our lengthy nursing sessions is due to comfort nursing. Recently, I started reading more into snacking behaviors, and I think my LO is snacking rather than having full meals. He will actively eat for a few minutes then it changes to “I’m just here to be on the nipple and softly suck for my comfort.” He’s not actively eating/swallowing, more so comfort nursing.

Aside from long nursing sessions, he has not been sleeping well during the day. He is difficult to get down for a nap, and I think it may largely be related to just not feeling satiated. His naps are incredibly short, roughly 30-40 minutes, and occasionally 60 minutes. He sleeps quite well during the night. When he wakes in the morning — and when I’m well engorged and full — he will sleep for a few hours quite well after a morning feeding.

I am really worried about my supply and how his snacking will affect me. I am concerned the constant “empty an ounce, replenish an ounce” will negatively impact me as opposed to “empty three ounces, replenish three ounces.” I’m worried the lack of the full feeling is preventing him from obtaining a good sleep and naps.

Is this snacking behavior necessarily a bad thing? Should I correct this snacking behavior and ensure he is satiated? Is this cluster feeding or is that entirely different?

The diagram below is a pretty accurate description of how it’s been going for us. I don’t pump or measure how much milk he gets, but it definitely, definitely feels like an ounce every 30 minutes.
