Period after pill

I was on the pill for 10 years. Stopped taking it in April and TTC. Since April I've had two periods and they only happened because my doctor gave my medication to start it. I was always regular before the pill. How long does it take for your body to get back on track?? I have all the symptoms of a period when I'm supposed to get it but nothing comes out! And I've taken tests and they are negative.
