AITA?

My whole pregnant my MIL has been warning me about my baby’s health.

I am a healthy woman, and my boyfriend is a healthy man. In the beginning of the pregnancy I was extremely anxious and would cry a lot. My bf and I also argued a lot. Which would make me cry, but her first words were always “you shouldn’t cry, your baby will be born sick.” I would ignore this statement.

Then as the pregnancy progressed, I noticed my baby sat low in my tummy, which was told to me was normal by the healthcare professionals caring for me. Yet my mil said, “when I was pregnant I didn’t carry low, your baby can be born with his legs messed up.” I just responded like I always do “doctors say he’s healthy.” And ignored it.

I told her my babies current weight which was 3.5 pounds, again was told it was normal for the time he was measuring at. I tell her, she goes “omg that’s a skinny he should already be 7 or 8 pounds, when my kids were born that’s how much they weighed.” Mind you I was still pregnant..and not even near my due date yet.

Again it was ignored.

This was my last straw, my SIL is currently eight weeks pregnant, very happy for her. She was prescribed her prenatals, when I was first pregnant, I was new to the state and didn’t have insurance yet. I could not get any healthcare at the time, I hear my mil say “look at SIL, she’s taking her prenatals already.” I ignore. Then she says “your far in your pregnancy and have stopped taking them, that’s horrible for you. I know a woman who didn’t take her vitamins and now her baby needs physical therapy because he’s one years old and cannot crawl.” That made me explode finally.

Eight months of this, I have had enough. I finally explode and tell my bf his mother is out of one and I’m sick and tired of the horror stories, I’m sick and tired of being blamed for things that aren’t my fault.

I was so angry I was shaking, but now that it’s subsided I feel bad that I caused my bf to argue with his mother. And am wondering if I overreacted. AITA?
