Upper Right Quadrant Pain @ 28 weeks
I was diagnosed with Gestational Hypertension at 24 weeks. Since then, I’ve been monitoring my BP and watching my “normal” BP creep up (it’s usually 115/70…new “low” is 137/90). This last week I’ve had terrible burning under my right ribs that is relentless. It kept me up the other night to where I only got 20mins of sleep. My doctor drew labs and the labs came back within normal limits…so I’m at a complete loss for what is going on. My growth scan confirmed that baby girl is super low…so it isn’t like she’s camped under my ribs like my son was 8 years ago.
It’s just so hard. Because I’ve also had a headache off and on all week. I’ve had off and on visual changes. We get told to call if we have these symptoms with high BP (and I’ve had at least one reading of 140+/90+ each day) but my labs are all within normal limits (albeit, trending in ways they don’t usually [ie: liver enzymes higher, platelets lower than they’ve been in years, etc].) Or when I go into L&D like directed…my BP evens out and they shrug their shoulders and send me home.
Has anyone had these issues? I feel like I’m going insane. I’m so uncomfortable and scared that I’m just going to become so used to the discomfort that I don’t get help when we need it. Or that I’ll be dismissed when we do because I’ve “cried wolf” one too many times. I wish I could just know what to expect…which is why I guess I’m reaching out. To hear similar stories that help me feel less nuts. 😫
