Is it obsession?

My fiancé looks up his exes on social media all the time. Is this obsession? Why do they do this? Can anybody give me more reasoning behind why men look up their exes on social media continuously? He said he looked them up to make sure they were not happy but why does that even matter?!! It makes me feel less then or not enough. Am I tripping? Should I feel insecure? Help!!

If he is looking them up because he doesn’t want them to be happy then he still cares in some way & hasn’t healed from the past relationships. Someone who is over a relationship isn’t going to wish ill on their ex, nor will they have any desire to check up on them & see where they are at in life.

He has a compulsion to look them up that is driven by an obsession to see how they are doing. The fact that he says it's to make sure she's not doing good just shows that it is an obsession. He needs to break this obsessive compulsive behavior by completely abstaining from looking at her social media. He needs to put that energy somewhere else. Like self-care, the relationship with you, or seeing a therapist. This is critical to his mental well-being. As proof, you can see that it is already affecting his current relationship with you. What is going to happen if he does not stop is that you are going to become another ex for him to obsessively and compulsively cyber stalk. And it will continue to affect all of his relationships until he decides to break the cycle. It is very unhealthy behavior. It may not even have to do with him not being over them, but it is toxic obsessive compulsive behavior. He just can't stop. He may not even truly know why he can't stop. He needs help. ￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼￼
