Baby measuring borderline small
Hello, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I had my anatomy scan at 20 weeks and baby was doing great and 11oz. They couldn’t get a few pictures so I went back a week later and he was measuring “borderline small for gestational weight” at 14oz at 21 almost 22 weeks. They said he was in the 14th percentile. Because of that I just had a growth scan yesterday. I’m 25 weeks today and yesterday he was measuring 1lb9oz. They said he’s improved and is now in the 21st percentile but is still considered “borderline small for gestational weight”. I have an OB appointment next Tuesday so I’ll definitely discuss my concerns with her. So far they have only messaged me and said they will continue to monitor him and I’ll have another ultrasound in 3-4 weeks. I never had this with my first 2 baby’s. My oldest was 8lb3oz and my second was 7lb14oz. I’m so nervous something is wrong. I know he’s not considered officially small and the fact he’s improving is good but I can’t stop myself from stressing. At my last appointment my doctor said everything looked good and sometimes babies just take time to gain some weight. Even yesterday the ultrasound tech said he looked good and it’s good he’s improving just that his percentile just wasn’t quite where they wanted it to be. Has anyone else experienced a “borderline small for gestational weight” baby where they weren’t considered officially small but on the smaller end and everything be ok? Any advise or similar experiences would be so appreciated! Also as far as I’m aware all his measurements are good and normal it’s just his weight that keeps being noted. Thank you for reading!
