Can you grow to be attracted to someone

I’ve never been so confused in my life. I absolutely love my guy (best) friend apart from the fact, I’m not attracted to him and he’s not my type at all looks wise…. But personality is everything I could ever dream of in a partner.

So my question is Can you grow out of this and become more attracted to them over time or is it doomed from the get go if I try anything out of curiosity?

Up until a couple weeks ago I’ve always said nothing would happen between us cause I don’t see us being sexually involved, so it would never happen, but now I’m curious and find myself wanting to kiss him and see what happens. But at the same time I’m not 100% sure about how I feel, so I don’t want to get his hopes up as he’s already told me he likes me a lot.

I’m also scared to kiss him cause i don’t want to ruin what we have and I don’t wanna lead him on or hurt him. What if we come out not feeling the sameway? It would make things weird and awkward. I really don’t know what to do.

My head says one thing and my heart another. It’s so confusing. Any advice
