How often do you cook and clean?
I just got married. I’m a nurse, I work from 7:30am to 4:30pm four days a week. So I don’t even work full time at this point, but by the time I get home with traffic it’s 5:30pm. My husband is already home and lives 5 minutes from his work, so he’s home just past 5:00pm. He takes care of our dogs who are a little bit of a handful. One is still a puppy, and going through his potty training schedule. Since I have to get up at 6:15am the next morning for work I try to be in bed by 10:30pm. So from 5:30pm-10:30pm I have to do our laundry for the day, cook (which takes about 2 hours to make and eat), and take care of the dogs and clean the house. We don’t even have any kids, I don’t know how y’all do it, but if this seems hard to me now I can’t imagine how throwing a child into the mix would work. Never mind having any time for myself. My friends who are married with no kids say things like “oh you don’t have any kids your so free!” And have things like hobbies that they do after work like reading or painting or school if they are still in college. I just don’t get it, what am I doing wrong? Do most people not cook as long? What kind of food do most people cook or do most people even cook? Do most people have to clean the house every day or do you save it for the weekend?
