due the 28th but made his arrival on the 6th
i had woken up at 6am because it felt like discharge so i went to the bathroom to check and too my surprise, my shorts were soaking wet. i started FREAKING out because with my first i was induced and my water had to be broken by the doctor. i ran in the room and told my fiance. he got up and i started frantically packing our hospital bag. after it was all packed, we headed to the hospital where they had said the test came back negative for amniotic fluid. (which ended up being incorrect) as the nurse was checking my dilation, more water started gushing out so they went ahead and admitted me. they let me labor on my own for a while but my cervix wasn’t making any progress so they started my on pitocin to speed things up. i asked for the epidural early because i did NOT want to feel those contractions again. well they try to place the epidural 3 different times and none of the attempts worked. they were able to place it the 3rd time but it only numbed my abdomen for 45 minutes. after it wore off, everything started getting very very intense. i could feel EVERYTHING. they checked me and i was only at a 7. within 5 minutes i had the urge to push so they checked me again and i was at a 10. my dr rushed in and i pushed for 5 minutes and he was out. the next day i started getting the worst headache. it never went away unless i was laying down and came right back if i sat up or stood up. i had gotten discharged and the next day i had to come back for a blood patch because when they placed my epidural, they punctured something and i was leaking spinal fluid. after an awful couple of days, i finally felt better. now, 3 weeks later, i felt so much better and am trying to enjoy the newborn stage as much as possible .
