Beyond Frustrated, Rant
I am currently pregnant with our 3rd, however, this pregnancy is way different than my other two. For example, I get sick so much more often.
I struggled with a sinus infection for pretty much the whole month of April. Brutal. Nothing over the counter helped me in any way that was safe to take during pregnancy. I don’t remember doing anything with our kids, as I was so out of it and miserable. I finally got an antibiotic prescribed to me last Monday (4/22) to take for 7 days, and by Thursday/Friday, I was finally feeling so much better. This whole week I felt normal again. One of the issues is, I was told the only antibiotic I could take for this infection that was pregnancy safe was amoxicillin, which I do have a mild allergy to (itchy palms). I dealt with it, because it was much better than continuing suffering through the infection.
Today (5/3), I woke up with a nasty sore throat, nasal congestion, post nasal drip, and blocked ears, completely out of the blue. It seems my infection has come back. I am not opposed to herbal remedies at all, but it seems that pretty much everything that I look up that might help is not recommended during pregnancy because of lack of evidence. Even elderberry is advised against, which could really work some wonders for me right now.
I do plan on seeing a doctor again, but was hoping SOMEONE has dealt with sinus infections during pregnancy, and could let me know what helped or worked for them.
