Unprotected sex for a number of years and never fallen pregnant - is there something wrong?

Myself and my fiance are TTC baby number 1. We're desperate to become parents but I think there may be something wrong. We have unprotected sex for a number of years but only in the last month have we actually been trying to conceive, diet change, taking pregnacare etc... Is this quite normal and shall we just keep trying or should I be seeking professional advise? We have done home fertility tests and both have come back fine but I'm worrying that I have damaged something when I caught chlamydia off my ex a numbers of years ago, even though I had it treated I'm unsure how long I had it before getting it sorted. Any advise would be much appreciated?  X

My husband and I have been using the pull out method, or a lot of times the no pull out method. I never became pregnant. I was just very conscience of my fertile days.

I would see a Dr. And possibly not just an ob..try an reproductive endocrinologist.

We were trying also but then I went to doctor and was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Just because you have a period doesn't mean that you are ovulating. I was on some meds about 5 ish months and got pregnant but lost him at 20 weeks. Just make sure you are conformable with your doctor and they monitor everything

Im in the same boat as you. My husband and I have been having unprotected sex for about 6 years and never had an accident. We only really started ttc late last year. When I say that, I mean I mean taking ovulation tests, having sex on fertile days, taking prenatals etc. All the ovulation tests I've taken confirm I'm ovulating so I find it hard to believe that in 6 years of unprotected sex we haven't had sex during my ovulation days. So for that reason and to be on the safe side my obgyn is going to do tests on both of us. If you're really serious about ttc I think that's your best bet.

Home tests can be unreliable in both directions. I honestly wouldn't worry, because I was in the same situation you were. I had unprotected sex for years. No birth control, nothing. By the grace of God I never fell pregnant, and when me and my husband decided to officially start trying it did take us a while. I'm just not what I guess you could call super fertile. But we have two children now and everything is fine.

It's recommended to see a doctor if you have been trying for 1 year with no luck

Seeing as it been a few years without any contraception you should see a doctor asap. If there is a problem it could take years and a tone of effort to get pregnant. You don't want to be waiting if you're desperate for kids now.
