Age difference...is it a problem?

My bf is 37 and I am 28. He says that I am too young for him and sometimes he has a problem with the age gap. I have no issues because I date older men. My husband was eight years older. What is his problem? He tries to act like my father sometimes. I am tired of being treated like his child but don't want to act like his mother either.
