In laws and marriage

I told my husband that when his mom comes and visits I feel disrespected because she just decides when she coming to stay with us, when she’s going to leave, and how long she’s going to stay. She never asks anything and stays for 6 months. I asked him to tell her out of curtesy can she please ask me and keep me informed. He said I was really messed up and im treating his mom wrong. She is a widow and he is the only child. I told him if she ever wants to live with us that my doors were always open but if not and visiting can she respect those boundaries. He thought I was evil. Fast forward to today my mother and her husband may break up and I asked him if it’s ok if my mom could still live with us ( in the past he’s always said she could) he said we got to talk about it because you won’t let my mom stay. I said that not what I said and I repeated to him what I said but he didn’t listen and I said well my mom ain’t going to be on the street and he got mad and now we aren’t on good. Give me the truth I can take it.
