Feeling defeated
I’m just looking for some positive feedback from ladies who may have gone through the same thing. We fell pregnant while having an IUD. We had the IUD removed and are continuing to watch me closely. With that being said we are trending my beta hcg levels, and frequent ultrasounds to ensure this is not an ectopic pregnancy. My hcg levels are rising beautifully and are doubling every 48-72 hours. We had an ultrasound one week ago today that showed a gestational sac measuring 5 weeks 1 day. Today we had another showing a gestational sac and yolk sac measuring 6 weeks 1 day. So we are able to definitely rule out ectopic at this point. I will go back on Monday for another ultrasound to determine viability. I am just really upset because with my HCG level being over 20,000 I feel like we should be seeing more. I know hcg levels aren’t always indicative of what you will see especially if you’re earlier then we thought. Granted my cycles were never regular with my IUD, I could go anywhere between 21-50 days depending on the month so I very well could be earlier. The ultrasound technician who I also work with at another office said she can see what might be the start of a fetal pole and even just 24 hours could make a difference. I’m just so upset, and worried this is going to end in a miscarriage. The doctor said by next week we should definitely be seeing more and if not we will discuss options to terminate the pregnancy and just hearing those words broke me. Even though this was not expected or planned it doesn’t make the thought any easier. Have any ladies ever gone through the same situation, and went in a week later to see a baby and a heartbeat?
