Delivering twins??

Question

Any recommendations on best method to deliver twins. Both are head down and consultant is advising to go for normal delivery. But I'm thinking if it's just worth going straight for C-section just incase normal doesn't workout.

In my opinion if you can do natural I would opt for that. Having twins and a c section is very hard. I would though be prepared to have a c section just in case. At least for me my vaginal delivery was an easier recovery than my c section. I even had stitches after my vaginal delivery. 
Do what is best for you and your babies. We can give you opinions but you have the final say.

If both babies are head down and your consultant is recommending attempting a vaginal delivery, I would go for it! If you do attempt a vaginal delivery, I would just be mentally prepared for the possibility of a CS (or even a vaginal delivery AND a CS) because twins can be unpredictable. It doesn’t sound like you’re in the US, but we’ll often have twins deliver in an operating room just in case baby #2 needs a CS quickly.

I was actually just talking about this with my friend who had twins. She elected for a planned C-section just due to the risks of having complications delivering vaginally and then having to recover from an emergency C-section on top of the vaginal recovery. planned c sections are often lower risk and have easier recoveries than emergency, and obviously you can’t guarantee a easy vaginal delivery. Her reasoning made a lot of sense to me. I’m having a singleton but have also been presented with the option to attempt a vaginal or plan a C-section.
