He told me he was at work and I went to surprise him, they said he was off

For our anniversary he told me that he's really bummed but was forced to work ( he works food), and I said it's okay. So the day of our anniversary I went to his work to surprise him because I felt so bad he had to work. I went with a girl friend of mine. When we went they said he didn't work today, after calling him he admitted he went to drink with the buddies at the lake to go jet ski'ing and he said his buddies forced him to go and he's really sorry.

I cried the rest of the night...
