How do you break up with someone when you still love them?

Been together 7 years. He’s done me so dirty throughout the years, horrible things I should’ve left him for. DV, cheating, manipulation, verbal abuse. I feel like I finally know my worth.. I just don’t know how to leave him because I still love him, but I’m trying to love me more than I love him. Basically my question is what words to use when leaving him. He’s ghosted me many times before, but idk if I could ever ghost him. And if I should start distancing myself before hand?
