What is FT4 low mean? Please help and if that ever happened to you?

worried! I’m 33 weeks. I told my doctor I’m always very tired and I noticed hands and ankles get swollen so she order blood work and this was the results I got and today she called me left a message to schedule appointment with endocrinology and when I called them they told they don’t have any appointments until January 2025. Is this something to worry about? What is it mean?

Also, being tired and swollen at 33 weeks is also normal. Not saying not to follow up and I under your concern! But I wouldn’t add stress to it. 💕

I have hoshimotos so I get this tested regularly with OB and have an endocrinologist. Normally this level is high, but since I’m on medication it’s actually was last tested low too. OB told me to check in with my endocrinologist. I did and he wasn’t worried at all. Told me to just make a follow up appointment after birth as I would anyway (since my medication levels had to change while pregnant to compensate for the excess blood volume). All this to say, I’m not a doctor, but OB will tell you to see endocrinologist no matter what since that’s not their specialty and they need to make sure you’re getting proper treatment. And my Endo is not worried about a slightly low level. Best of luck 💕
