Any college professors on here?
I started teaching college last year. I teach comp 1 and 2 along with speech. I had speech classes over the summer and there was a girl in my speech class in the summer and she's in my comp 2 class and I get an email from her MOM because she's not happy about her daughter's speech grade from the summer semester and wants a meeting with me. Is this normal for parents to do? I thought it's understood that once your kids are in college you don't do that. I did reply and informed her I'm not meeting with her. If her daughter had an issue with her grade she should have gone to me then and her daughter is an adult. She needs to come to me. I don't meet with parents. Is this normal? I've only been a professor for a year.
