My husband picked my 8 year old step son up from after school care yesterday and he was fucking scream crying. He was upset because his teacher said they would try to do quiet time for him. Quiet time is when she lets him come on the stage with her and color or build Legos. He has autism so he gets overwhelmed. But he gets to go by himself and do that. She said she would try but never got around to it and oh my fucking God he was just scream crying and wouldn't stop. It was giving me a migraine. My husband just made him go to his room to calm down. I try with my step son. I really do. His behavior can just be out of this would and I would have never been able to do that when I was his age. I understand he has autism. I've just never been good with autistic kids. My daughter is better him than I am.
