I’m on day 3 of my period can I start my birth control today ?? I wanted to start on a Sunday to stay in a routine

The instructions should be on the pamphlet inside the bc box. My doctor told me “start the first day of your period to decrease the chances of it fucking with your cycle. You can basically start whenever you want, but be warned, it most definitely will fuck up your cycle if you don’t follow my advice”. I’ve heard people can get a dual period or it can prolong the period you’re already having atm if you take it another day then the first day of your period. But I’m not a medical professional so I recommend you just shoot your doctor a message, ask a pharmacist at your local pharmacy, or if you’re lucky enough to have one around ask in a drop in clinic.
