Will I be a bad momma??

I just had my first baby. It’s a boy. He is scheduled to have his circumcision done first thing in the morning. I am dreading it. I’m doing it because I feel it’s more hygienic. But I’m so attached to him, but I know that if I hear him cry, I will completely fall apart. The doctor doing it is absolutely amazing and does a great job. The office is very small though, so I plan on having my bf (babies dad) stay with my son during the procedure because he can handle it, while I stay in the car.

Would me staying in the car instead of staying with my son make me a bad momma? Even hearing him cry when I change his bum makes me cry.

There’s nothing more “hygienic” about it. Uncircumcised penises are just as hygienic as circumcised. If that’s your only reasoning, you may want to do some more reading on the topic. 
We didn’t circumcise. If we had, I would have insisted that either my husband or myself stayed with him. I can’t imagine leaving my child alone, in pain.

If you’re this torn up about getting him circumcised, then maybe you shouldn’t circumcise him. I mean this is the kindest way possible, but I truly think you should do more research first.

Born and raised in the usa...have lived in various European countries over the last 7 yrs and the one I reside in permanently doesn't circumcise becquse it isnt anymore hygienic. If that is your obky reason its a bad one. Not being in the room if you cant be when a procedure is done doesnt make you a bad mom. We all have different levels of what we can do. But making a choice based on bad and incorrect info isnt great. Only like 35%  of the world is circumcised and besides the usa most are because of religious or cultural. The men and boys in norway, sweden, and the Netherlands where I have spent almost a decade now are no less clean or hygenic then american males. Unless needed for a reason like an issue with the foreskin it is purely asthetic.

My son was circumcised and they had me stay in the hospital room. He came back and wasn’t even crying! I gave him extra love and snuggles

I had my son circumcised and I watched the procedure. He was numbed and given pain meds before. He slept through it. I was given cream to help it heal and we kept him comfortable. He healed in 6-7 days and was perfectly fine. We did it for medical reasons.

My first child i watched him get circumcised and I almost passed out, with my second son I waited in the waiting room and my partner went with our son and I’m planning on doing the same with our third boy when I give birth to him. There is nothing wrong with not being in the room when it happens. You’ll be there when it matters and taking care of him afterwards.

No, you won't be a bad momma. You can comfort baby afterwards. Don't let anyone on here talk you out of this. Do what you want to do. Both of my boys were circumcised in the hospital when i was in my room. So i wasn't present with them in the same room while it was done.
