So I've been on a few dates and somehow when I mentioned I didn't see it going anywhere, like 50% of guys said that "I was closest" to what would be their dream girl/their connection/...?

Like.. what is the purpose of telling me this while I'm on my way out?

Like being 'the closest' practically means that you're close to what they wanted and they would maybe settled with you if nothing better came along.

Close to what they want.. isn't "what they want"
