Missed sex on ovulation day

We were unable to have sex on ovulation day but had 3 out of 4 days prior to ovulation. Does that seem ok? I’m 40 and each month is important. Is the frequency ok? Anyone has similar experience with BD / late pregnancy, I’m all ears!
