Left abdomen cramping ?

Hey I am only 5 weeks pregnant & im experiencing slight cramping for the past few days but ONLY on my left lower abdomen. 
Is there any reason it’s on the left?

I have had the same since 4 weeks. I'm 8+5 now and when I asked my midwife about it she said it sounds like that's probably the side baby has settled so that's the side doing all the stretching at the mo. Not had a scan yet to confirm that baby is on the left side but it's stopped my anxiety
