American PR living in Toronto, need pregnancy advice!

Amy

I transferred from the States to work in Toronto a few years ago and I’m one of the lucky ones to have a Family Doctor here in Toronto. I arrived right before the pandemic, and have been really happy with my clinic.

*Net-net: I have no idea how else to navigate the healthcare system and infrastructure around pregnancy and childbirth in Canada*

I’ve heard that midwives here are the way to go? I’m a high risk pregnancy (my first child at 38 y.o.), so I would appreciate any tips or tricks in accessing resources, any behind-the-scenes knowledge that other moms in Toronto share. I’m the first one to get pregnant in my friend group here.

Thanks in advance!
